In mid-1997, I decided to take up guitar, so began trying to scrape up enough cash for a half-way decent guitar at the local guitar shop (about $200). After begging my parents, they agreed to pay $50 towards a guitar. With this, I didn't even come close to being able to get an electric guitar/amp combo, so I bought a used Suzuki acoustic guitar. During this time, my younger brother, who only wanted to play guitar because I did, got a Peavey Reactor* an a Fender Frontman amp for Christmas. Luckily for me, he dropped out of his lessons. This means that I got his guitar, amp, and lessons. I've been playing since late February/ early March, and I've improved in leaps and bounds.
